I was born in Central Florida in 1960 near Lake Monroe. On the St Johns River is where I first wet a line. Several members of my family were commercial fisherman. One Uncle was one of the first in his time to guide for Black Bass on the river. He probably inspired me the most to fish with a rod and reel. Catching quantities of fish was enjoyable and profitable in those days, but I always loved to catch those large bass with a rod and reel. When I was old enough I got a pickup and 14' aluminum boat of my own. I was drawn to the coast where I began exploring Mosquito Lagoon. I got hooked on the line stretching Gamesters found in the salt-water back country; and that still burns in me after 30 years.

The days of making it on large quantities of fish are gone. But quality fish still exist which I enjoy pursuing. My favorite Inshore are Redfish, Trout, Snook, and Tarpon. But I have never been upset when I hooked into a screaming Jack or a Ladyfish; or perhaps a tasty Mangrove Snapper or Flounder.
Offshore: Trolling for Dolphin, Wahoo, and Sailfish is my favorite type of offshore fishing. I also, love to bottom brawl with Grouper and Snapper along with Back Breaking Amberjack.

I enjoy sharing these experiences with others. I have grown children who all love the outdoors. I am a certified Instructor of Hooked on Fishing Not Drugs and feel that if more young people experience fishing and the outdoors, they will be less likely to experiment with drugs and will pass on the fishing experience to their children.
